OCTAGAM 10% is an IVIg therapy

Intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIg) like OCTAGAM 10% are commonly prescribed treatment options to help manage DM and cITP symptoms. OCTAGAM 10% is an FDA-approved IVIg therapy for adults with DM or cITP, and given by IV infusion (medicine given through a needle inserted into a vein).

What is OCTAGAM 10% approved to treat?

OCTAGAM 10% is FDA approved to treat adults with dermatomyositis (DM) or chronic immune thrombocytopenia (cITP).

For adults with DM

OCTAGAM 10% helps improve DM symptoms and daily activities

For adults with cITP

OCTAGAM 10% helps boost platelet count, which may help control or prevent bleeding

How is OCTAGAM 10% made?

OCTAGAM 10% is made from human plasma, which is carefully selected from the blood of healthy donors using strict FDA guidelines to ensure safety. These include:

  • Screening plasma donors for certain viruses and other diseases
  • Testing the collected plasma to help ensure that it is virus and disease free
  • Ensuring certain viruses are inactivated or removed when OCTAGAM 10% is manufactured
